Greetings, Yin Yangsters,
Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga are Yang yoga styles. They deal more with continuous movement, heat, and athleticism.
Yin Yoga is a style that offers fewer poses, held for a longer period of time in order to slow down our minds; to  marinate in our poses, and to move our fascia. (Fascia is defined as “a thin piece of fibrous tissue enclosing a muscle or other organ.”)
Yin Yoga makes us do our yoga on a deeper level both mentally and physically. We allow gravity to draw our bodies into our poses naturally without force or hurry. This week we will focus on doing Yin Yoga so bring blankets, bolsters and blocks (if you have them for props) along with your mats. Yin poses are usually done seated or lying down and are held 3-10 minutes each. I promise this to be a rich and relaxing experience!
