Like Water for Yoga
Greetings, Water Wonders!
I suppose many of you will be going to lakes and oceans this summer. I am, too!
As a Vinyasa Flow yoga teacher, one of my favorite ideas is to offer moving in your yoga poses like you’re moving in or under water.
Last week, we did a shoulder and neck class with arm swings to loosen up the shoulders. This week, we will continue some arm circles (and more) in a sequence called “Catch the Wave.” The movements will help you folks who are swimmers! It also will help you to move gracefully in all situations both on and off the mat. (On the mat: Holding a beautiful Tree Pose. Off the mat: Not letting obnoxious Uncle Bob get to you during your upcoming family reunion.)
It is a practice to learn to flow and let go. Let’s commit to trying this together!
