Greetings, Natural Newbies,
Our brains often choose the same neurological channels to deal with life. We get used to what we get used to. Like a bicyclist on a muddy trail, it is easier to take the already made rut in the path to avoid crashing.
A new year always makes us think about how we are going to try to approach our lives in a new way. Usually this involves making overly ambitious resolutions (like never eating sugar again) or doing like the snarky chap who announces at the party, “My New Year’s resolution is to not make a New Year’s resolution.” Perhaps it might be a good idea to choose something in the middle.
This week in our yoga, we will focus on doing the class and our asanas in a new way. (Think of starting on the left side first, interlacing your fingers with the left hand on top, crossing your legs with the opposite leg you normally don’t use and starting our Sun Salutations facing the back of the room first.) The class will end with a Guided Meditation by Joyce Bailey who will give us a great opportunity to redirect and calm those stubborn neurological pathways!
Here is the schedule for the week. Let me know when you would like to attend:
